Metronome Study 2013: An earlier version of this piece began as the 2nd movement of the original Matariki suite a piece commissioned for Massey University in 2004.The piece has now been removed and revised as a study accompanied by a metronome. The rhythm is based on the popular Ka Mate haka, by Te Rauparaha, with the metronome taking the part of the stomping foot, and the wiriwiri at the beginning and end of the piece.
